How to fix the column?
The cost of repair work is now over the top. And this is practically all: in the repair of furniture, sanitary ware, gas stoves and stoves. Today, we'll talk about how to fix a gas column with our own hands.
The very first thing you need to do isDisable the flow of gas into the column and water. That is, before beginning the repair of the gas column, without fail (!) Shut off the gas and water supply valves. In order to remove the frame of the gas column, you need to unscrew the two screws (they are usually located inside the column). The left-hand regulation knob of the gas supply to the column and the ignition switch are not removed. Also, you can not remove the right-hand throttle control knob. See for yourself, different columns - different modifications, but the principle is the same. We will describe only the most frequent cases of breakage of gas columns.
Such a problem occurs in the gasautomation, that is, in these columns there is a protection system. In your column, the gas in the ignition should always be ignited and this should not depend on the position of the handles, water supply and valves. Typically, this protection system consists of a fuse, a valve and a thermocouple.
In order to perform automation repairsprotection, it is necessary to understand well what it consists of. Thermocouple - welded in one or two wires from different metals. Designed to power the valve in a column. Usually do not break. Look carefully, maybe these two welded wires are broken off from the connection point to the valve. If you have such a breakdown, it is necessary to change the thermostat, because this very place of connection generates a current and it can not be repaired manually. This is one of the options that will help you understand how to fix the column.
The electromagnetic valve in the gas column isa copper coil (wire), inside it is a cylinder made of metal, it is mechanically tied to the valve stopping the translating of gas into the wick of the column. If the thermocouple heats up, it gives electricity, that by going through the copper coil, produces a magnetic field, this field is tightened by the solenoid (it is connected to this valve, so the valve moves and the gas begins to penetrate the column). And if the gas does not burn, then the thermocouple cools down and there is no current, the solenoid comes to the initial position and no gas is supplied. So if your wick is extinguished by a draft or something else, then when you open the water, the gas does not light up.
Thermal fuse - plate is bimetallic. When it is heated (in the area of the thermal fuse) at 90 degrees, it bends, so that the power circuit is broken (supply of the selenium). In increments, the thermal fuse is connected via terminals. But it happens that this element of the column refuses, then it should be replaced, otherwise the column will go out constantly.
We check the thermal fuse
It's worth checking if your columngood traction and good air flow. If you are so sealed up your home (the windows are closed tightly, the extractor is working, the door is closed), then there will be no thrust and the column will overheat. This is what the thermal fuse does - it does not suffocate us with carbon monoxide.
To check it, do this: Remove the terminals from it and short-circuit them between each other with absolutely any object. The object should be metal (spoon, needle, clip). If after that the column serves properly, then the problem was for this reason.
Extinguishes during operation
Perhaps there is no traction. We have already written about this. Still it is necessary to open the door and the window in the kitchen. If after twenty minutes the column is working properly - then you have found the cause of the malfunction. Also, traction may be absent due to the fact that the ventilation column is clogged with soot or foreign objects. Eliminating this breakdown, you take out the ventilation pipe, apply a leaf to the open end, if it is holding, then there is traction, and you can also bring a lighted match or a lighter. If there is no traction, then clean the channel. We hope that several of our lessons on how to fix a gas column will help you repair your equipment.
